C’è da dire che l’originale degli animals è insuperabile, cmq gran canzone…
I know this is an Animals’ tune but did Pink Floyd record it, if so when?
Passato di qui per caso, cmq si. Non è dei Pink Floyd, è degli Animals.
L’originale è una canzone folk britannica che a quanto pare fu pubblicata per la prima volta negli anni ’30. La versione degli Animals è quella più famosa. I Pink Floyd non l’hanno MAI incisa, la versione che si dice sia loro è in realtà di un gruppo che si chiama Frjid Pink……
ad essere precisi non è nemmeno degli Animals…la loro versione è la più famosa ma cito Wikipedia.

L’esecuzione della canzone da parte del gruppo inglese The Animals, nel 1964, è generalmente considerata la più famosa ed è stata la numero uno in classifica sia negli Stati Uniti, sia nel Regno Unito. […] Lo studioso del folklore Alan Lomax, autore nel 1941 della raccolta di canzoni Our Singing Country, scriveva che la melodia era presa da una ballata tradizionale inglese ed il testo era stato scritto da Georgia Turner e Bert Martin, una coppia di abitanti del Kentucky. Altri studiosi propendono per ipotesi diverse, sebbene quella di Lomax sia generalmente considerata la più plausibile.
